Off to School

The anticipation/worry/fretting (mostly by Mason, not me, really!) about starting school is over because it finally began! Mason is attending a 3 day a week preschool at a Lutheran Church called St. Peter's and it seems really nice. He loved his first day and the special attention that came with celebrating his birthday. His only complaints were that nobody told him the other kids names and two of the kids in his class (who are all supposed to be 4) still wear diapers. He was so nervous about going to a new school, but he was very brave and left with me with a big hug and smile and no tears! After school, all Mason wanted to do was "homework," but since his teacher didn't send any home I had him do worksheets out of a book I already had. Logan insisted on doing homework too, so here are my little bookworms getting so smart!
Logan started a miniature version of "joy school" today. We don't use the official joy school curriculum, and we only have 4 kids, but it's basically an hour of simple activities/instruction and a half hour of play time, alternating at each of our houses. Logan was so excited about starting his school that he thought he needed everything Mason needed for his preschool (markers, scissors, pencil box, etc.). I bought him a box of crayons and a workbook and gave him Mason's hand-me-down backpack and he was thrilled! This morning at 7 am, he packed up his bag, put on his shoes and said, "Let's go to school, Mason!"
Here is his "class" working on coloring their shapes. They are all such cute kids, it's going to be fun to teach them.

I love the new pictures. I cannot believe Mason is so big. He looks so adorable in the backpack. Sounds like life is back in the swing of things. I keep meaning to call you to chat. Maybe today.

diapers and 4? I though you couldn't go to preschool if you weren't potty trained. Who is his teacher?

Logan can not be in school...that would mean our babies are way too grown up. Your boys are adorable; I'm glad there weren't any tears....you are lucky!
