We were so lucky to go to CA for 11 days last month and hang out with the Borgquist/Cummings clan. Eric was there with us for the first 5 days and then he flew to CO for what was supposed to be a week long adventure in the Rockies hunting deer. Unfortunately he injured his ankle before leaving CA and after 3 days in the mountains he had to hike out because his ankle was too painful to hike on anymore. He got to visit his family in CO, which is always nice, but he was devasted to lose out on his time in the mountains. Here are some pictures of the highlights of our trip.
Mason, Logan, and their cousin Morgan had so much fun playing at the beach. My sister and I were in heaven because they didn't require any attention from us and we were able to relax in our chairs.
They even built their own sandcastles!

The gang at the beach. You can tell Zack is sleeping in Kirsten's arms, he usually slept under the umbrella the entire time we were at the beach - angel baby!
One day we went to a place called the Monarch Program where they teach the kids all about caterpillars and butterflies. The kids loved it, especially when they were able to "feed" the butterflies watermelon. I couldn't believe how easily the kids could coax the butterflies from flowers onto their fruit. The butterflies really loved Mason and he almost always had 2 somewhere on his body.
Even Logan had a magic touch with the butterflies!

Isn't Zack the cutest?
We also had a great day at Sea World with the whole gang (minus my brother-in-law Chris). Here we are at the Shamu show where we were really hoping to get wet because it was so hot. But despite being in the "splash zone" only Eric and the 2 big kids on the end got wet.
Starfish...

and more starfish...

turtles, fish...

and touching bat rays. What more could a kid want?

On our last night there we got to celebrate Nana's 55th birthday. We got babysitters for the kids and went out to a nice dinner. The kids couldn't wait for us to get home so we could eat cake and sing to Nana.
All in all we had a great trip and were sad to leave all our CA family. We'll be planning our next trip soon!

Thank you for the update!! What a great trip! I love all the pictures and still can't get over how grown-up my Logan looks. Honestly, could your boys be any cuter??!! You look wonderful, like always and I'm loving the long hair! Gosh I miss you guys!
BTW, after I got off the phone with you, Doug said, "We should have gotten you a ticket to come back East with me and we could have seen Megan, gone to DC, etc." I was so angry because I mentioned that about 2 months ago- don't you remember! Bummer- big time!!
Looks like a great vacation! How lucky you are to have fam there. We love Sea World! I'll have to tell Ryan about Eric--what a bummer!
I was wondering why you hadn't blogged in a while. Looks like you had a lot of fun in SO CAL. AUdrey thought the picture of Mason holding the starfish was super cool!
