Resident Fox Family

Our house sits on 3 acres and part of that acreage is a hill that used to be a horse grazing area. We don't go up there much, except for the occasional nature expedition by Logan to impress one of his friends with his bug finding abilities. One day we were eating breakfast and Eric looked out the window to see a bunch of fox pups playing up on the hill. It turns out that we have a fox den in our own backyard! Everyday we get to see a mom and dad and their 5 babies playing around - we love it!
Here is the momma fox guarding the hole where her babies are kept safe.
A little one coming out for a peek..
And three little buddies! These guys are usually wrestling and running like crazy, but every picture that Eric tried to get while they were wrestling was just a big blur of brown fur!
We can never get a picture of all of them together because they spend so much time in the thick bushes and trees right around their den. The dad usually sits up higher on the hill by our fence line watching for trouble or something like that. The mom and dad usually run away when the kids go out to play, but the babies have gotten pretty tame and stay out even when the boys are playing basketball or soccer. The boys want to venture up to the den so badly but I don't know how a momma fox would react if one of our boys went up to the den while she was in it, so I make them keep their distance. We're going to be sad when the little one's grow up and leave, it's been so fun to watch them!

Kim's Wedding

In April, my cousin Kim married a fantastic guy named Dave. We were super excited for her because she had a disastrous first marriage and then had to wait a long 16 years to find a man finally worthy of her. It appeared the wait was worth it - they seem so happy together!

I was excited because it meant I got to see my Idaho family, who I don't get to see often, and my parents and sister Kirsten! I love when occasions arise to see each other so regularly. I wish Erika could have come to Salt Lake for the wedding but she was working and couldn't get away. We definitely missed her!

Spring in Salt Lake was lovely, but COLD! We got snowed on several times, but we still enjoyed the beautiful flowers and scenery. Nothing can compare to spring flowers in Temple Square. Here are some pics from the weekend...

If only Erika was here! We have 3 girls in my family and my mom's brother had 3 girls too, all of us very close in age. We had so much fun together on our yearly trips to Idaho - oh, the memories!
