And the diagnosis is....

Eric was up all Tuesday night with more "mysterious" pain, but it wasn't as severe so he didn't want to go to the ER again. So, Wed morning we got him an appointment with our primary care physician who determined the cause of the pain to be gastritis and/or ulcers. The recommended treatment? Priolosec. So our theory is that the Nyquil Eric took (which was expired by 5 months) burned a hole or "ulcer" in his stomach and that is what caused the pain last Friday night and then the pain reappeared on Tuesday night because he ate acidic food. Does it make sense? YES. Are we 100% confident in the diagnosis? NO. Eric is skeptical that an ulcer could really cause that much pain and when I researched gastritis and ulcers, the symptoms were more consistent with indigestion (bloating, gasiness, abdominal discomfort, etc.) than drop-you-to-your-knees-going-to-pass-out-pain. But at least we have a diagnosis and hopefully this treatment keeps the pain away!

Wow! Megan that is amazingly scary! I'm so glad it isn't something terrible and hope they've figured it out. Doctors and mysterious pain can really frustrating. Good Luck.

P.s. I wish it were you coming to Colorado. Y'all are missed!

Poor Eric! I had an ulcer aabout 2 years ago and it was super painful. I was on meds for about 6 months and haven't had any problems. Try to stay away from that spicy food:)

That is really scary! I am so glad it isn't a problem with his heart. What a night! I would have been crying too. I have a hard time watching people in pain. Hopefully, it will be better soon. Good Luck.
