Good-bye Jersey Shore

I had to get one more beach day in before I became land-locked in Colorado, so I convinced some friends to go "down the shore" one last time with me. We had a great time, despite the trashiness of Atlantic City. Why we didn't do beach days more often while I was here is beyond me - it's only 1 hour away!!!




Things and lingo I am going to miss about Philly:

Pampers (every kind of diaper)

Wuter Ice (Water ice, like italian ice)
Hoagies (you can't call them subs)

Meg (my name, even to strangers)
Good eggs (good people)
Sliding boards (slides)

That's all I can think of right now, but there are so many things I am going to miss. It's been a great 2 years. Thanks to all my friends who have made it so great!!!

Girly Girly

Here are some pictures of my sweet girl. Having a baby girl really is like having a doll to dress-up and I love it! But I seem to always rush out the door without her bracelet or her bow or shoes, but here was an occasion where I remembered all of those items! By the way, those shoes were mine when I was a baby, isn't that great?

One last call for New York

Eric has never been to New York, so we had to squeeze in a quick trip before we leave the East coast for good. We started out in Battery Park to see the Statue of Liberty and then walked along the west side esplanade up to Canal St.
While Eric was on the hunt for new sunglasses, Logan fell asleep and Mason was rewarded for his patience with an ice cream.
Next we headed to Times Square. The boys got their energy out at the huge Toys R Us store and we checked out the crazy Times Square scene. Not quite Eric's cup of tea, but entertaining nonetheless.
And finally a picture with Paige to prove she was on this trip. She slept most the time, so it was easy to forget about her. Such a good baby!
After 3 trips up and down the subway stairs with a stroller loaded with 3 kids we were exhausted, so we headed to Harlem to spend the night with our friends Mehrsa and Jared. I can't believe we didn't take any pictures with her family, but we had a great time. Thanks for your hospitality, Bybaran family, and thank you New York for a fabulous (and sweaty) day!

Lil' Paige

Every time Logan talks to the baby, he calls her "Lil' Paige" with a southern twang. It is so funny. I took these shots the other morning when both boys were fighting to hold her the second she woke up. I thought the novelty of having a baby in the house would have worn off by now, but it hasn't. So, looking at Paige with both boys, who do you think she looks like now?

Big Logan

Our Logan turned 3 this week! We had a little party to celebrate - Kung Fu Panda style. The activities will make more sense if you've seen the movie, which my kids loved.
First the kids had to slurp noodles with no hands...
Then they got to kung fu kick and chop styrafoam sheets...
Then they played pass the Dragon Scroll (hot potato)...
Break open a pinata...
And finally eat cupcakes!

I tested my crafty skills by making each kid a panda cupcake. I think they turned out pretty cute, thanks to a helpful book called Hello Cupcake. It really is the best book ever for cute, doable cupcakes.
I was so worried when Logan was an infant that he would be a seriously difficult child, but to my surprise he has grown up to be a very enjoyable child. Onery and stubborn yes, but very snuggly and sweet too, so we'll keep him. We're so glad he's in our family!
