Eric is currently in Big Springs, NE on his way back from a doctor appointment at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. We decided to seek a third opinion to put our minds at ease after receiving the second diagnosis at the Mayo Clinic. We questioned the second diagnosis after coming home from Minnesota and reading information about the disease that didn't seem to jive exactly with Eric's symptoms. So, instead of always questioning whether he really is receiving the right treatment, we decided a third opinion was the best course of action. The University of Nebraska does a ton of lymphoma research, so it seemed like the place to go next. The pathologists there concurred with the Mayo Clinic - Eric has LP Hodgkins Lymphoma. I can finally say that with confidence now that it has been double checked. So, the third time's the charm - I'm finally at peace with the diagnosis!
Whoever thought I'd be able to say I'm at peace with a cancer diagnosis????

Well, saying that just means that you have incredible courage, faith, and eternal perspective. I so admire you! For that, AND because you have the most beautiful family!!!
I am glad to hear it, megan. Sorry you have to be at peace about anything so terrible, but at least you are..
also, your eyelashes picture was so cool (and p.s. you're crazy)! you should send that to a die-hard runners magazine or something, it's awesome. Do you have a nice camera or something? ours isn't capable of focusing at all, so I'm impressed.
No kidding, but I'm glad you know for sure. Your mind can be put somewhat at ease. We are still praying for your family daily.
That's great that he went and got a 3rd opinion. I can definitely relate to feeling at peace about a scary diagnosis. I always felt like I could handle it better when I knew exactly what it was I was supposed to be handling. It's the unknown that can be the worst part about it. You guys are always in our prayers! I admire you so much! You have shown so much strength and courage through this whole process. I am sorry that you guys have had this trial, but you have been a huge example to so many of us. Tag keeps talking about maybe moving out by you guys. Who knows, but apparently there are a lot of jobs there in his field. Maybe one day we will be neighbors again :)
i'm so happy to hear that things are moving in the right direction!
That is good news! We hope Eric is feeling good!
It's smart to get a third opinion and know exactly what it is you're dealing with. I only wish we could be closer to your family to help out in any way you need. You are always in our prayers. Keep that faith and optimism going, it will help you get through the rough days.
Good....not being sure would be hard to live with....I'm glad you feel better about it. Good luck guys and we are still praying for you.
