This year we invited Eric's grandparents and mother over to our house to share Thanksgiving with us. They willingly made the 5 1/2 hour drive over and we were so glad they did! We actually picked up Eric's mom the Sunday before Thanksgiving and she spent the week with us and then returned home with her parents on Friday.

The boys had a glorious time eating their turkey drumsticks. Eric gave them to them, of course. I couldn't watch them eat because I wanted to dry heave every time I saw a piece of skin or fat being torn off by their teeth and entering their bodies by way of their mouths. I have a very big problem with ingesting anything but pristine clean meat. Drumsticks and chicken wings are my worst nightmare!

After dinner we drove the crew up to the Monument and took a little walk to a view of the red rock formations below. We had to move around a little in order to encourage the digestive processes to make room for pie!

The day after Thanksgiving, Eric and I took the kids on a hike in the Monument in search of a climbing area called Elephant rock. We did not find Elephant rock, but the boys didn't care or notice since they were climbing on every rock we saw. Our hike was fairly long and treacherous and the boys did great - they are such troopers! Paige, on the other hand, was not such a pleasant hiker. She kept saying, "I walk, I walk" while trying to hoist herself out of the backpack. This girl is as independent as they come!

Once all the boys were up on top of this rock, Paige was not very happy to have been left at the bottom with me. Poor girl, she really does think she should be able to do everything her brothers do.

It was a perfect day to be outside - hopefully this warm weather lasts a few more weeks. But then, bring on the snow, I want a white Christmas! We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to appreciate the blessings in your life. We have too many blessings to count, but topping my list this year is a healthy husband. Hooray for 6 months of living without cancer!

Beautiful pictures Megan. I love the background in the last one. And I'm sure in no time Paige will be right up there with the boys.
looks like your Thanksgiving was great! I'm bummed we can't run Boston together, we'll have to try for next year!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hooray for you and Eric! Happy Thanksgiving. I love the picture of the boys. I actually love watching my girls eat anything fatty. It's the Iranian mom in me wanting to just fatten them up. That hike looks amazing. You really do live in paradise. Paige sounds like she is just like lulu.
Ok, so I am dying to know how things went this weekend on your run!!! let me know. I really need to get your email and number...much easier than always sending msgs through blogger.
