I ran the Rim Rock Marathon on Saturday and had so much fun! I ran the race with the "Frunners," an awesome group of men and women here in Grand Junction. The weather didn't look too bad at first, but then the rain turned to snow! I had snow in my face from the start to about mile 20. The course was up the Colorado National Monument - approximately 13 miles and 2000 feet uphill! It was a tough climb, but I felt great and had good company. I just wish we could have had blue skies!

With the crew. Thanks to joining them on their long runs I was well trained and came in first in my division - I was super excited!

Here I am climbing (the little yellow dot) one of the hills. It was a bummer the weather was so nasty because the scenery is gorgeous up there and the clouds hid most of it!

Here we are at the high point! Corey and John (the photographer, he ran with his camera in his hand the whole time!) ran with me from mile 6 or 7 through most of the race and I was so glad to have them with me.

A little break in the weather gave us a good shot at the canyon below.

Running with Brian of Ohio. We had a good pace and stayed together through most of the downhill.

Coming down into the valley below.

Towards the finish I was greeted by the boys who had whistles and signs and were cheering me on! Shauna had come to visit for the weekend and helped the boys make signs for me. She said the other runners didn't seem appreciative of the signs and whistles - what's wrong with people?

Coming in to the finish line - the Gu packs did their job and I felt strong!

With my cheerleaders: Bradli, Shauna, Paige and Erica.

The family, Logan was super excited to be there as you can tell. As soon as I crossed the finish line he wanted to go home. It was pretty chilly so I couldn't really blame him.

My kids, Shauna's kids and little Lucy - the best fans ever!

After the race Logan could return to what was really important, dressing up like Spiderman...

and digging for dinosaur bones! Jaden and Logan played really well together and had a blast.

Bradli and Paige's friendship is growing and we know they will be best friend someday!

The boys and girls - don't you think two arranged marriages would be a good thing here? Thanks for coming to GJ, Shauna - we love you and your kiddos!

Awesome job Megan!!! I can't believe the weather, that would've been a little bit of misery. Glad you did great! We should really try and convince Shauna and run a marathon together next year.....maybe New york?!
YOu are a rock star! Way to go. Maybe one day we can run one together.
How do you still look so gorgeous after running a marathon.... and in the snow!? First in your division too. Amazing.
yeah!!! I would love it if we could run it together!!! You can easily take 11 minutes off your time. Good luck. Let me know how it goes. That would be a really fun weekend, maybe we could get Mehrsa to come too.
Absolutely AMAZING! How would it be to run a marathon and say, "I felt strong" at the finish line! WOWOWOW!
Way to go Megan!!! Hey Logan, Hunter would agree that getting back to your superhero status that day really is important!!!
Congrats on doing another race Megan! Your kids are getting so big and are so cute.
Good job. It is so funny seeing pics of shauna here in little old GJ. where does she live now?
okay super woman, you're a stunner even after marathon! :) way to go, that's a huge accomplishment-especially coming in first! I was laughing at Logan's expression. He looked pretty pumped!
