Treatment

Eric started chemo treatments today. We had to wait an extra day to get the final ruling on his diagnosis (it is what we thought it was), which was torture. We are so tired of waiting for results! Eric was pretty excited today to finally get the chemo pumped into his blood. He hasn't had any negative effects yet, the nurses told him it usually takes 3-5 days to start feeling crappy. He has 4 anti-nausea medications to take, so they say he shouldn't experience any vomiting. He had his blood drawn yesterday and his doctor told him today that his LDH (lactic acid dehydrogenase) levels are down (a very good thing) and his platelet counts are back to normal, after just the one dose of Rituxin! Eric says that his abdomen even feels slightly less tight now. These results were very encouraging to us and we know it is the work of the Lord. Thank you for your prayers, they are working!

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone being excited for chemo. I think it's inspiring and am confident that Eric will beat this with you by his side.
Thank you for keeping us all updated. Tyson asks almost everyday how Eric is doing. We still have you in our prayers.

Hi Megan,
It's Val from Philly, I don't know if you will even remember me, I lived up in Royersford, but my little girl Gracee went to Jamie's school with Mason. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that we too are thinking about you guys and will pray for you. Take care and keep smiling. Good luck and best wishes.

I wanted to let you know that I like to see how people are doing through their blogs but I never leave many comments, and I probably should more often. You're in our prayers Eric and Megan.

This is great news. I talked to my dad and he said that the drug that Eric is taking is the best in the market and it has had remarkable results (which I am sure you know). My prayers are with you. As I said before, call me when you need anything Megan. There is no need to go through this alone when so many people love you and Eric and are so willing to help.

Hi Megan,
Your family has not left my thoughts for one second through all the craziness. You have always been so strong, I'm sure you are doing a wonderful job of holding everything together for your kids. Salt Lake is not that far. If you'd ever like a weekend alone, I'd be happy to come down and hang out with your little ones. Know that we are all praying for you and sending all our love your way.
Love you,
Steph

Dear Eric,
I was so disheartened to hear about your illness. But, the odds are in your favor that you will beat this because you have a unique combination of stong faith + supreme physical fitness & mental strength + tremendous support & prayers from your family and friends. Eric and Megan, you're in our thought and prayer, and we look forward to hear more good news.
