More Tests

We were going to wait until we had an exact diagnosis to post anything new, but test results keep coming up inconclusive. We do know that Eric has lymphoma (cancer of the lymph system). There are many classifications of lymphoma and we do not know which one he has or what stage he is in. He has had 2 biopsies and multiple tests that have not told us anything about how sick he really is. He goes in tomorrow morning for a surgical biopsy to take a portion of a lymph node out for testing, so hopefully the third time will be the charm. He is been so strong through all of these tests, even though they have all been awful. He will start chemo just as soon as we have a diagnosis, he even has a portacath inserted into his chest already for direct access to his veins. We are both anxious about all the unknowns, but we feel an inner peace that tells us that he will be able to fight this. I have been very calm this last week and I know it's because of all your prayers. Thank you and please continue them on our behalf. As much as I would like to talk to all of you, I would appreciate it if you would hold off calling for the time being. Much of our days are spent at the hospital and when we aren't there, we are trying to be as normal as possible for our kids and I don't want to be on the phone constantly. I also don't want Mason overhearing my conversations about Eric. Thank you so much. We love you all!

I can't imagine how difficult this must be, especially with three kids who need your attention all of the time. I am sure whatever the diagnosis, Eric can beat it.
I went to the temple last weekend and put his name on the prayer roll. We will continue to pray for your family.

My heart goes out to your family. We are going thru cancer right now in our family and I worked at a cancer clinic for years and I am a firm believer in hope and miracles. I have seen the weakest of weak become strong and the strongest become unbreakable. I know that you guys will be able to do this and as you already know you don't have to go thru this alone. We love you guys and will continue to pray for you.

We'll be praying for you too! My dad just beat colon cancer and he's 70 years old. If he can beat cancer, Eric definitely can! I know how hard it is to go through this with a loved one, so I'll have you in my prayers every day!!

I am so sorry that you are having to endure this difficult time. You are in our prayers continually. We will pray for your continued strength, both mentally and physically. In the meantime, remember that there are so many people that love you and that are praying for you. My niece has cancer and just started chemo last week. The doctors give their stats. My brother says he doesn't care what the stats are and he doesn't want the family discussing or accepting them. With prayer, God's will and the power of the priesthood numbers make no difference. And you have a lot of prayers heading your way.

Our prayers wont stop now! We were very saddened by the news and still find it hard to understand. However we are trying to think positive thoughts and we know that Eric's youth and strength will be on his side through out all of this. I wish that I could do something. I think I will always be your visiting teacher in my heart. We love you all!
