Eewww!

I just finished sweeping up a pile of dead maggots that had invaded our outdoor trash can. I am only posting this in hopes of helping others who may someday have the unfortunate experience of dealing with maggots. Let's just say they are almost impossible to kill! Eric bought some pesticide that was supposed to kill them, but after dousing them with half a bottle they were still wriggling around. I tried stomping on them and squishing them up against the steps, to no avail. We had read on the internet that boiling water supposedly kills them, but in our case, it just washed them away into some other part of our patio (not what I wanted). After trying all these things, Eric got out the gasoline and lit them on fire! That seemed to do the trick! So, if you come across maggots, we found that fire is the best remedy!

ok, that is so gross! Owen thought it was great that Eric set them on fire. That is totally up Owen's ally--burning things and blowing things up!

That's pretty disgusting. I hope this is advice that I will never need to take!

As gross as that is, it is kind of funny. I can just see you out there trying to stomp the little suckers to death! Did you get my message a couple of weeks ago?

I find that fire is the answer to most of my problems! When in doubt light it up.
