Happy Easter and Anniversary

Our Easter weekend started off with two soccer games in pouring rain - which was as fun as it sounds. But Mason loved it - he scored 18 goals! Probably would have scored more if they hadn't put him in as goalie for the second half. Before you go thinking that Mason is superhuman, you should know that they were playing 4 on 4 because hardly any kids showed up to the game in the rain. I'm pretty sure I saw his head physically expanding with each goal he made, but self-confidence in a 7 year old boy isn't a bad thing, right? But you have to feel bad for Logan who has to follow in those footsteps! Good thing Logan is so happy/go-lucky about life and doesn't really care about Mason's athleticism, let's hope that attitude persists for many years :)

Rain kept up all day Saturday to welcome our friends, the Brown's to town. They were driving from UT to Denver and decided to take a pit-stop in GJ for some Easter fun. We went on a little Easter egg hunt at church, dyed eggs, and enjoyed the symphony of noise that exists when 6 kids under the age of 7 are having the time of their lives. The kids stayed up way too late, but even with a late bedtime they still woke up at 6:30 am to see what the Easter Bunny brought. Here are some pics of the kids discovering their loot.

After finding all the treats, we stuffed ourselves with homemade cinnamon rolls (what was I thinking, like we needed more sweets?), and cleaned up the kids to head out for 9 am church. But before we left, we had to take the pre-church Easter pictures. Don't they look so cute?

And it just so happens that today, Easter, is also our 12th wedding anniversary. The Easter Bunny brought us a beautiful Easter Lily as a gift. I can't believe it has been 12 years. I don't feel old enough to have been married that long. I'm a lucky girl, that's for sure! Happy Anniversary, Eric!
