Eric received his 12th dose of chemo yesterday! It is a major milestone to have made it through the prescribed chemo treatments, but we are not saying that we are done. There are still too many unknowns to feel like celebrating. I went with him to his appointment so that I could take some pictures in the infusion clinic. I stayed three hours and was only there to see him get his pre-meds and steroids. He had to meet with his oncologist, get labs drawn, and have his port cleared (it gets clogged often and is treated with a drug that has to sit for an hour) before he can even start the pre-meds. They drug him up pretty good before starting the chemo and once he takes the pre-meds he gets really drowsy. The picture below is him taking his pills and the picture above is about 15 minutes later. I had left to go schedule his PET scan and came back to him asleep! All went as planned and we are glad to have this round under our belts.

Before this round of chemo, Eric was able to do some fun things. He took the kids on a father-son campout at the church's property, Ragged Mountain, to do some service chopping wood in preparation for the summer campouts there.

They were able to do a little fishing too. Logan caught this fish and provided a tasty dinner for the boys. Mason caught one too but it was smaller and got put back. They were on their way to another lake to keep fishing when Logan fell in a Beaver pond. It was icy cold and soaked all of his warm clothes, so fishing was postponed until the next outing. Classic Logan!

The boys and their new Spiderman fishing poles...

Eric also celebrated his 34th birthday! I was so glad he felt good and could enjoy his birthday meal and cake.

We love this man who provides so well for our family and makes sure to spend quality time with us even when he feels awful! We are going to Mexico next week and can't wait! It will help kill the time before June 4th when Eric will have his PET scan. Thank you for those that fasted with us and prayed for us on Monday. Eric and I both are overwhelmed by the love and support our friends and family show to us. We are so grateful to each of you!

Your family looks great in the Mother's Day picture. At least you got one. My picture was running out the door and trying to get the kids to stand still - notice my picture isn't posted. It was a joke. You are in our prayers. Hope that everything turns out well.
It's all too familiar. There isn't a day that goes by that we aren't thinking about and praying for you guys. Let us know if we can do anything for you. Anything! - Travis
I bet Eric loved you taking pictures! He's a fighter for sure. I'm so excited for you 2 to go to Mexico. You're going to have a blast! Loved the camping pics and the fact that Logan fell in the water- too funny. Love that sassy Paige! We miss you guys!
P.S. I was dying watching Kypton! You may recognize some of his moves :)
I was thinking about you and Eric all day Monday and praying for his quick recovery. My heart just breaks seeing those pictures. I am completely speechless over Eric's ability to help the kids feel special and safe during a very scary and uncertain time. I pray that the group fast will bring a miracle that is so rightly deserved for your family. I love you guys!
Wow! 12 rounds--way to go you guys! Have a great time in Mexico. My little brother just got back and said it was super fun because no one was there!!! Good Luck on the 4th!

We love you guys! You are in our thoughts and prayer. Have a great time in Mexico.
I remember when Mason caught a fish at French Creek. My favorite part was when he showed you with his hands how big it was. We miss you guys!

If there was an award given out for the worst friend ever, I suppose that I would win it. I am so sorry that I haven't written to you forever. I have no excuse. I hope that this last round will be just that...the LAST ONE! We are thinking of you and love and miss you lots. I hope that you have fun on your trip, and we will continue to pray for you guys.
Happy Birthday Eric! We hope he is starting to feel good after #12 and we are praying for good news! Have a blast in mexico!
