Paige has had more trips to the doctor lately than Eric. She had a bought of really high fevers (104.5 for 4 days) that had everyone worried. After x-rays, urine samples, and blood work, the doctors still couldn't find a source of infection (other than a slight ear infection), so they treated her with Rocephin and another oral antibiotic to be safe and her fevers went away. Now, after just finishing her antibiotics, she has come down with a croupy cough and runny nose - ahhhh! So, we aren't getting much sleep these days and I really want my healthy happy baby back!
Despite this, we have still had lots of fun this month. Here are some pics to prove it!
Mason made this lovely crown for Eric at school (it is a Burger King crown turned around and decorated with wild animal and sports stickers). He wants Eric to wear it all the time. The morning after Mason gave it to him, Mason came to me and said, "Mom, we have to bring this crown to Dad at work - he forgot it!" He was disappointed when I didn't think that was such a good idea. So now Eric gets to wear the crown every minute he's home - lucky guy!
We went on a drive to scope out future camping locations and had a fun picnic. The only bummer was that we had brought a new kite that we could not get to fly, despite plenty of wind. Don't buy the Tiger Shark kite from Sam's Club - it's totally lame (or maybe we are, but whatever)!
Mason, showing off his climbing skills...he really is part monkey.
Paige loves unloading the dishwasher, the problem is, the dishes are always dirty! She has learned to say "uh-oh" so she purposely drops things (like dirty cups) so that she has an excuse to use her new word.
We took all the kids to the rock climbing gym last week and I wish I had brought my camera. Paige was totally trying to climb the walls! She would look up at the boys and yell in frustration and then grab the lowest holds and try to get her feet up. It was so funny and of course Eric loved it. I'll have to get some pictures next time.
We just returned from a killer two days in beautiful Beaver Creek. Our friends, Lisa and Mike, who live in Wisconsin, came to CO for a plastic surgery conference and invited us to come stay with them in an amazing house right on the slopes of Beaver Creek, which is probably the most posh resort in CO. Mike's sister-in-law, Diane, (who is actually good friends with the home owner) came with 3 of her kids and we all had a great time living in the lap of luxury for a couple days! Here are my kids and Diane's kids plus one of Lisa's (we are missing Issac and Ariel) hanging in the hot tub.
Of course I had to teach my kids the tradition of going from snow to hot tub - who doesn't remember doing that?
My guys...
We took Mason and Logan over to the magic carpet for one afternoon. I couldn't believe how much they both improved in just a couple hours! This hill was much bigger than the last one we went to and Logan decided that he just wanted to go fast! He would start at the top and bomb down the hill at full speed at Eric, not bothering to try to make a wedge at all. Although he was much steadier on his feet this time, it was a little crazy to watch him fly down the hill. But then again, this is Logan we are talking about - why am I surprised?
Mason was all about technique. He taught himself turns and would make beautiful S curves all the way down the hill and then stop on a dime. He hardly even bothered to look at us before getting on the carpet again. He was just too cool! Our kids are so different, but they both had a blast.I'm bummed I didn't get any pictures with Mike and Lisa. Thanks for inviting us up, we had such a great time with you guys!

Glad everything is going well for Eric. So sad about little Paige--although I do have to say that she is getting SO adorable! I love that little ponytail.
Great news that things are well for Eric. Bummer Paige has been so sick! It can be so rough, especially when they are little and can't communicate to you what they are feeling. I hope she starts feeling better soon. It does look like you guys had a fun month. I totally think Eric should wear the crown to work ;)
I've been thinking about you guys a lot and hoping that everything has been o.k. I am happy to hear that all of you are doing well, especially Eric. I am so sorry to hear about Piage..hope she gets better soon. It doesn't seem like anything can slow you guys down. Even in the midst of health struggles you are still living life to the fullest! Love you! You are still in are prayers!

Your family is really cute. Cade loves to stand on the dishwasher to "help" me too. I'm waiting for the thing to break one of these times!

It love that you guys have so many fun things to do! What great friends! I can't believe Paige is almost a year old...crazy! She is too cute with the dishwasher. Eric is awesome to wear his crown all the time. We miss you guys!
I am so glad that you are having such a fun time out there. Sorry about Paige, how stressful and scary. Man you have your hands full. You amaze me. Keep in touch (if you ever have a second...I won't hold my breath busy lady) ;0)
Wow, you guys really know how to live it up! Sounds like a fun month! I think we have the same shark kite and it really sucks! We've never been able to get it up either. I'm glad to know it's not just us! Sorry about poor little Paige! Tis the season of sickness (but hopefully for not too much longer). I hope she gets feeling better and that chemo keeps going well. How much longer does Eric have of chemo?
That vacation sounds way too fun! I hope you have a happy healthy baby again soon too that is such a bummer. I love the crown and that it always has to be worn! :)
