Booooo!!!

All winter long, Angie and Jordan and I have met at 5:45 am to run in order to train for a half-marathon that was scheduled for March 17th. We convinced Erika (my sister in D.C.) to do it with us. So Friday, March 16th came and we were hit with a horrible ice/snow storm. We contacted the race coordinators Friday evening who confirmed that the race would still go on. So, after driving 4 hours in horrific road conditions to Chambersburg, PA (thank goodness for my 4x4 Dodge Ram, I think I might like it now) and spending the night in a luxurious Best Western, we were ready for the race. When we showed up at the high school, we were met by someone leaving who told us the race was cancelled! Apparently there was a bad accident that morning when they were setting up the race course so the police cancelled the race. It really was pretty unsafe, you can see the glare of the ice in the parking lot above (that's not water), but we were still sooooo sad! So instead of running we toured the awesome Chambersburg mall whose major department stores were Sears and J.C. Penney and ate lunch at the best restaurant in town, Red Robin. It was a fun day with the girls, but we were all very disappointed not to run our race! We are planning our own half-marathon this Saturday in Philly to make up for last weeks bust. Anyone is welcome and registration is free!

All that training... what a bummer! I won't be registering for the "make up" race, but tell me where the finish line is and I'll be there cheering you on!

Oh my gosh!! You girls are so die-hard! I can't believe you all were going to run a half-marathon. Looks like you still had fun!!
