Embarrassment

I got back from a bike ride this morning and took a quick shower. In the 30 minutes remaining before we had to take Mason to school, I got the kids showered, fed, dressed, etc., but did not have time to get myself ready. I threw on some sweats (cute ones, I must add) and pulled my hair back in a wet ponytail. I even put on some lip gloss. I grabbed my keys and told the kids to load up in the car. Mason looked at me and the following conversation ensued:
Mason: "You're taking me to school like that?"
Me: "Yes."
Mason: "You're not walking me in, are you?"
Me: "No, I will drop you off on the curb."
Mason: "Good."

It's true. My child is 5 and already he is embarrassed of his mother.

You have set such a high standard of always looking flawless that Mason was shocked. I have never seen you look even kind of bad.

Megan, you've succinctly hit the nails of motherhood and oldest children on the head w/your vignette. LOL!

Mason only rolls to school with the finest ladies.

My kids haven't said anything like that to me but I think it's cuz they are used to me looking worn out and stuff. I'm so happy for you guys that Eric is doing well!

Oh no! Colter wouldn't know me if I wasn't in comfy clothes with a ponytail! :)

Mason is so silly...I don't think you could ever look bad! The other day I actually blowdried and curled my hair, both Colin and Brannon told me to put it back in a ponytail and that they like it better that way. Who would have thought little boys pay so much attention :)

Noooooo!!! That is hilarious. Doesn't he realize he has a hot Mom even in sweats??!! Next time I think you should take him in Eric's hunting clothes! Actually, he's probably like that.
P.S. Mailed the shoe and some other goodies you left today, but when I got back from the post office I realized you left your crayons. Finder's Keepers!!

Awwwwwwww, that is so cute though, to know that at the age of 5 they are so aware! I can't ever imagine you looking bad in a wet ponytail and sweatpants...I wear baseball hats on those kinds of days! Daniel started today, and he was so darn excited to go. I thought I was gonna cry, but I was so happy for him, I just couldn't!!
