Baby Shower

I was so lucky to have a baby shower last week, thrown by my friends Jordan and Jamie (below). Many friends from the ward came and I received all kinds of fun items for our baby girl. The theme was "Megan's little Princess" and it was so cute. I feel so grateful to have such good friends here in Philadelphia and felt spoiled by everyone's generosity. Thank you so much to Jamie and Jordan for planning such a fun night and thanks to everyone who came in support! I'm going to miss all of you when we leave this summer!

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend filled with Easter Egg dying ...An Easter Egg hunt...
And dressing up for church!
I think my favorite part was the dressing up, but the boys would probably say otherwise. They were less than enthusiastic about taking pictures and Logan refused to look at the camera because there was a new dog in the yard next to ours.
We finished the day with a great dinner at a friend's house. We hope everyone had an equally fun Easter weekend!

Countdown to Baby #3

At the request of my mom and sisters I am giving in and posting a picture of my VERY pregnant belly. I am one day away from 37 weeks and can't wait to have this baby here. I feel really good, I'm just anxious to see her! I'm glad Eric took a picture of me in these pants because I wear these pants everyday from 7-8 am and then again from 4-10 pm. My kids call them my comfy pants and they are right. I was looking at the picture trying to figure out what that faint yellow line was going down from my belly and then I realized it is the drawstring on my pants! Ha! I never realized it stuck out like that, good thing I don't wear these pants in public!

He'll fit right in

Mason and I were discussing our favorite seasons. Mason said he like summer and winter, I said I liked spring, and then Logan jumped in and said...

"My favorite season is HUNTIN' SEASON!"

That's right, he said huntin', not hunting. He is going to fit right into rural Colorado. Where did this California mama go wrong?

Are we really doing this????

Last weekend, Eric and I flew to Colorado to check out some potential practice areas. After being disappointed in two places and crossing them off our list, we arrived in Montrose, Colorado and fell in love. This is a picture of the road driving into Montrose, obviously we didn't take it (I think it's probably summer in this shot) but you get the idea, it's gorgeous! There are mountain views like this all around. Montrose is a small town (roughly 20,000) but it is growing by leaps and bounds. Everywhere we looked there were new shopping centers and homes being built. We went to three wards in Montrose and met some really nice people, and most importantly there seemed to be lots of young couples with little kids.
Feeling optimistic about this being our future home, we looked at some homesites in a place called Ridgway that is 25 minutes from Montrose. It is more rural, but it is in the mountains and has spectacular views. This is the view from one of the homesites we looked at, but it would be a long time until we could afford to build there. Ralph Lauren owns a 22,000 acre ranch there, if only he'd share a couple acres with us! Ridgway is also where the John Wayne movie "True Grit" was filmed, so of course Eric thinks that is awesome.

We left Montrose convinced that it is the place we want to eventually end up, but there is currently no endodontist there so Eric would have to start his own practice. We really didn't want to do that straight out of school, but after all other prospects have fallen through it is the only option we are left with. After a week of mulling it over, we both feel it is the right thing to do, but it is still so scary!
It's hard to believe we are really doing this, but I just sent the retainer check out to our consultant so I guess it's official. If all else continues to go smoothly, we will be moving to Montrose in August. By the looks of this picture, fall is a nice time to visit, so start planning your trips to visit the Barnhursts in Montrose!
