A little country in Philly

After being cooped up inside for 2 days, we decided we all needed some fresh air, so we headed outside. Our first stop was to the horses/donkeys that live at an agricultural school. We drive by these animals all the time, but rarely stop, so the boys were thrilled when we pulled over and got out. Logan was a little nervous of the horses, especially this white one who was a little frisky. I have about 5 pictures of Logan with his head turned to the animals, I think he was too nervous to take his eyes off them!
Mason got pretty comfortable feeding the donkeys, but wasn't as sure about feeding the horses.
Our next stop was to Forbidden Drive, a great trail that runs along a creek.
The boys got a lesson in skipping rocks and scared away some little blue gill.
And finally we fed the geese and ducks, who weren't too enthusiastic about our stale bread. Maybe their tastes require more refined food?
Thank goodness for this little bit of country in Philly, it keeps us all sane!

Those places bring back memories. I found the swim passes. Still want them?

you know I always wanted to stop and see the horses there in Henry, and in the 4 years, it never happened. --And i swear, I drove by there thousands of time. I think those ducks are jsut overfed.--don't take it personally.

Seriously, stale bread! Ducks require better than that! haha! I'm glad you found some country for my little guys!

We love feeding the horses, too, although I've nevery seen any donkeys! I overhead somewhere that they're getting rid of the horses though, but that could just be a rumor.

Isn't it great that we do have a little country in Philly - and so close. I will miss "feeding the ducks" and "going on a quick hike!"

A little "Sanity" in Philly is what everyone of us needs.:)Our Bryce Canyon boys (Justin & Erik) would go crazy without a little country.

ps. Check out the comment I left on your favorite summer activities. :)
