Yesterday we had a thunder and lightning storm and lightning hit this tree that was right outside our gate. When the lightning hit, I thought it hit our house because the crack was so loud and our whole house shook. When I looked outside, I expected to see something burning, but instead I saw this entire tree uprooted, laying across the street, all the way into my neighbors yard. It took all the power lines down with it. Our car is the first silver one (closest to the tree) and if I had parked just 1 foot up the street my car would have been a pancake!

The boys loved looking out our window as the firetrucks came and neighbors swarmed to see what was going on. It was quite exciting!

That is Eric standing in our yard so you can see how close it was to our house. Thank goodness it didn't fall the other way!

Isn't is crazy how the sidewalk is sticking straight up?

The best part was that the energy company and tree service arrived at 1o pm to start working on the project. I fell asleep sometime after 11 pm to the sound of chainsaws and beeping trucks, the perfect lullaby!

Scary!! I'm glad no one was hurt. I can't believe how close and big that tree was.
I my goodness. That's crazy Megan. So glad you are OK. that could have been disasterous. I am glad the kids thought it was cool.
That is crazy! I am so glad that your family is safe.
Wow, what an adventure! WE miss you guys! We just made a blog site: ryanandsharisserowanfamily.blogspot.com
The name is kinda long, huh! Oh well! We have 10 boxes left to unpack, so I am still looking for those pool passes. I really hope I didn't throw them out!
Keep in touch! Sharisse
What an adventure, first a squirrel in the house and then this. Come back to CO, where it's safe!
Holy smokes, Megan! I know you told me the story, but the pictures make it even scarier. What memories you all are making...
Thats the kind of thing that is hilarious and way cool after the fact since no one was hurt; But still a little freaky how bad that could have been...speaking of... Jill had her baby in a barnes and noble parking lot....long story; its funny since she and baby are ok, but still a little freaky how bad it could have been. I'll fill in the details later.
I still can't get over how crazy that is! And the sidewalk coming right up with it....nuts!
that is nuts! I swear since we've live in the Easr I have seen so many crazy storms. That sidewalk picture is razy!
